Shining Mountain welcomes foreign students on both an exchange and a non-exchange (tuition paying) basis from Waldorf schools around the world during the student’s tenth or eleventh grade year. The length of the visit or exchange is one semester, from either late August to mid-January or mid-January to early June. Please apply 4-6 months prior to the semester in which you are interested.

Please download the High School Application and complete all parts. In addition, please send a copy of your transcript or “zeugnis.”

Exchanges
Exchange opportunities are very limited. You may begin the process of looking for an exchange by completing all parts of the High School Application, and then we will try to find a match for you. If accepted, then you continue to pay tuition in own school, and the Shining Mountain student does the same at Shining Mountain. An exchange works best when first one student attends the other’s school for a semester, and then the second student attends the first student’s school, rather than a simple swap.

Tuition Paying Visitors
When you inquire, it helps us to know if paying tuition is an option in case an exchange is not available. You live with a Shining Mountain family during your stay. Please complete all parts of the High School Application.

Tuition is $15,918 for the full academic year, or $7959 per semester, and room and board is $600 per month for paying guests.

Once Accepted
You will be sent an enrollment contract and a medical information sheet, both of which must be completed and returned with proof of medical insurance to cover your stay. Once we have received these enrollment materials and a 10% tuition deposit (paying guests only), then we will issue you the I-20 for your student visa.
